Emma Tembo is a single orphan who grew up in an very abusive home and was responsible for taking care of her younger siblings. When Holly first met Emma at Camp LIFE, she told Holly that she would rather die than go home. Emma and her two younger sisters, Bupe and Esther, lived with their abusive mother.

Emma still has scars on her back from the abuse she suffered. Little Esther has burn marks on her head from a night when he mother came home drunk and caught the her blanket on fire. All three of the girls now live at the Tree of Life Children’s Village
