“Train a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6
One of the most effective ways we can impact a Zambian child’s Christian education is to empower and equip their teachers. Our Legacy Academy teachers have formal training and certification as required in Zambia, but they lack exposure to best-practice education strategies to implement within their classrooms.
To bridge this gap, we invite American teachers to join our Education staff in Zambia each summer for Teach One. Through the mentorship design of Teach One, an American teacher co-teaches with a Zambian teacher in one of our Legacy Academies filled with orphaned or vulnerable children who are sponsored through Family Legacy.
We encourage teachers with a minimum 2 years of full-time classroom experience and a desire to help children with diverse learning needs to be part of Teach One. Your experience and time will be an investment in developing well-trained Zambian teachers who inspire their students to become godly, Christian leaders for the NEXT 50 years of Zambia and beyond.

What can I expect to do in Zambia? Our days in the Legacy Academy begin early at 6:45 am and wrap up around 4:00 pm. In the evenings we eat dinner together, debrief and plan for the following day. The American teacher serves as a mentor and role model to implement the following: classroom rules and procedures, simple phonics/reading/language arts strategies, use of donated textbooks and 1-2 instructional strategies that can be implemented in all subject areas. One day of your trip will be spent at Camp Life and/or the Tree of Life Legacy Academy so that you can see our other ministry areas in action. It is our prayer that you will see the Lord at work in new ways and embrace His heart for the orphans of Zambia.
Will I receive training?
