Add-on Trips

We offer two add-on trips to Camp LIFE: the Child Sponsorship trip as well as  various African vacation side trips. You will have the option of adding one, both, or neither during the sign up process.

Sponsorship Trip

Our Sponsorship Trip offers you an opportunity to spend time with your sponsored child! During your Sponsorship trip, you will be able to see the community where your sponsored child lives and have the opportunity to bless them by showing them how much they are loved.

Sponsorship Trips are 2 days total on the Saturday and Sunday following your Camp LIFE trip. Sponsorship Trip participants will depart Lusaka the Monday following. This year’s sponsorship trip cost is $650 per participant and includes all your transportation and lodging as well as most meals.

African Vacation Side Trip

The second kind of extension is an African Vacation Side Trip to one of several different and exciting tourist destinations either within Zambia or in nearby countries to Zambia.  This trip extension typically happens BEFORE your week of Camp LIFE, but it can be arranged to occur afterwards it that works better for your schedule.

Family Legacy handles ALL the details of this side trip for you. We work with the biggest and best travel agency in Southern Africa and have exclusively secured the BEST possible packages that maximize your experience of rest and relaxation along with a memorable African experience.  We also work to make sure that this side trip is properly synchronized with your actual ministry week of Camp LIFE, including the logistics of handling your Camp LIFE luggage and other time critical, on-the-ground logistics of transportation and accommodations. As this is a strictly a personal vacation, this trip extension does NOT qualify as tax deductible.

• Victoria Falls

  Victoria Falls is by many measures the greatest waterfall in the world at a mile wide with a 360 foot drop. It flows from the Zambezi River on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe and boasts one of the most diverse and easily seen wildlife of any major waterfalls site.

  The Zambezi Sun is a 3-star hotel located on the banks of the Zambezi River. You can sit on the porch and enjoy an African sunset as the river drops from sight about 500 yards away. The Zambezi Sun has it’s own private entrance to Mosi O Tunya National Park where you can enjoy a panoramic view from the bridge directly across from the falls or hike down to the Boiling Pot and see where all the water comes crashing down. The Zambezi Sun has two restaurants and a third at its sister hotel, The Royal Livingston, which is on the same property. You will likely encounter zebras, giraffe and monkeys as they roam freely around the property and looking out across the river you may be able to see a group of hippos bathing. The Victoria Falls Trip is an add-on that fits perfectly on your trip itinerary before Camp LIFE, however arrangements can be made for after Camp LIFE as well.

  The per-person cost for this trip is $1,250 not including transportation. Transportation to and from Victoria Falls is an additional cost and there are two options available. One is a private driver to drive you directly from the Lusaka airport to your hotel at Victoria Falls. The road trip is approximately 6 to 7 hours in length and the cost per person is based on your group size. Please contact our office for price quotes as this will depend on the number of participants using this method.

  The quickest way to travel the 325 miles to Livingstone is a one hour flight to Livingstone. Once you arrive in Livingstone, you will be transferred to your hotel. The current cost for a round-trip flight and hotel transfers is $500 and space is limited. Flights will be secured once a payment for Victoria Falls trip is made. The entire Victoria Falls trip is a non tax-deductible expense so you will not be able to raise support for any portion of your trip.

  Included in your 6 day, 5 night stay at the Zambezi Sun Hotel is a full-day safari in Botswana and a sunset cruise down the Zambezi river. If you are looking for even more adventure, you can enjoy optional activities such as bungee jumping, zip-lines, microlight flying, helicopter rides, a gorge swing, afternoon high tea, riverside massages, elephant rides, and souvenir shopping at your own expense.

• Hotel Upgrades at Victoria Falls

  If you are looking for that once-in-a-lifetime experience, you can upgrade your Zambezi Sun accommodations to the five-star hotel, The Royal Livingstone. The cost to upgrade is an additional $900 per person for the 5-night stay and is based on double occupancy.



• Other African Resort Vacations

  In addition to our basic trip to Victoria Falls at the Zambezi Sun Hotel and the upgrade to 5-star The Royal Livingstone, we now can offer other trips to Livingstone, South Luangwa safari, Lower Zambezi safari, Zanzibar, and in Cape Town, South Africa. These trips are inclusive of all flights and most are inclusive of meals on either a half-board (2 meals per day) or full-board basis (all meals provided). Prices for these upgraded side trips start at a minimum of $2,100 per person.
