A Letter from the President of Family Legacy
To say that Kristin Elliott isn’t your normal 18-year-old is a huge understatement. We first met Kristin and her family when she came to be a counselor in our annual Camp LIFE program to the AIDS Orphans of Zambia. We thought she was like any other 17-year-old high school student…an athlete who loves kids and wanted to make a difference in the lives of some needy children. We soon came to find out that Kristin’s heart was infinitely deeper than we had first believed.
Kristin had not told us before she came to Zambia that she had already been diagnosed with cancer. You wouldn’t know it by the way she hugged and loved and played with the kids every day. While the days were strenuous for the average person, Kristin continued to give every ounce of energy to bring love and life to those kids. It was only towards the end of the week that we discovered that she was really not even “supposed” to be here. The doctors hadn’t given her much time to live and she had already outlived their prognosis. We were stunned to learn that a girl who had been given a death sentence was spending her time and energy trying to bring the fullness of life to other kids who had been given the death sentence of HIV/AIDS.
After taking a tour of our Tree of LIFE Children’s Village and the first few homes that were being built to house AIDS orphans, we saw a certain light and gleam come over Kristin’s eyes. We knew at that moment that her life and the lives of the AIDS orphans of Zambia would never be the same because she had come that week in 2007. She told us, “I want to build a house for these kids, and I’m going to make it my wish that because of my life and my love for these kids, their lives would be saved.” And just as she spent every bit of energy as a counselor that week of Camp LIFE 2007, we have seen since then she continues to give every effort and take every opportunity to fulfill her dream of brining hope to those kids in Zambia. What an amazing person, and what a selfless love…One of the greatest parts is that Kristin takes no credit for herself, but rather gives all glory to God…She knows that the same God who gave her life and life to the orphans of Zambia, is the same God who desires to bring healing and hope and restoration to all.
Thank you SO much for your amazing generosity to help make Kristin’s Wish come true to build a house for the AIDS Orphans of Zambia. Ever since the airing of Kristin’s Story on ABC NEWS, we have been overwhelmed by the nationwide support for Kristin’s Miracle House. The Miracle House is being built inside our Tree of Life Children’s Village complex on the outskirts of Zambia’s capital city of Lusaka. Altogether, there will be 25 homes for over 300 kids. Kristin’s Miracle House is the 7th house currently being built.
As of today, 100% of the funds for Kristin’s Miracle House have come in. Truly it is a MIRACLE !! I called Kristin to tell her and she was so overjoyed that she decided she wanted to make the MIRACLE even bigger and build the “Kristin’s Miracle Clinic for AIDS Orphans” at the Tree of Life Children’s Village. We had already had plans for a Medical Center at the Village, and now, it will become a reality because of Kristin’s heart for these kids. A team of professional architects, engineers, and developers have agreed to donate ALL their time to bring this MIRACLE to pass.
We have received questions about our tax status…Family Legacy IS a 501(c)3 tax-exempt public charity and your contribution is fully deductible. Furthermore, a minimum of 95% of EVERY dollar contributed towards Kristin’s Miracle House and now Miracle Clinic will go DIRECTLY into the construction of these facilities.

What difference can one life make? Only time and Eternity will tell.
Thank You & God Bless You,
