What is Summer Staff? Family Legacy’s Summer Staff program exists to grow college students in their walk with the Lord, for them to work together as the body of Christ, and to serve the Camp Life participants as they serve the orphaned and vulnerable children of Zambia.
If you are interested in being a part of our Summer Staff program, please review the important information below.
When does the Summer Staff program take place? Please refer below for 2019 dates. If you are a returning alumni or have a particular week you would like to attend, please take that into consideration when applying for a half. For more information regarding the week’s of Camp Life, please visit our website here.
*Houston travelers return home one day earlier.
How many people are accepted for Summer Staff? Approximately 20 students each “half,” 40 students total.
What if I have never been to Zambia? No worries, we would love to have you! If this is your first time to Zambia, you will be required to participate in a week of Camp Life as a “participant” to gain the full experience.
What is the cost to participate in Summer Staff? $4,500* covers the cost to participate in a week of Camp Life as a “participant,” as well as your airfare, lodging, meals, and transportation for the duration of your stay. If you are an alumni and you choose to not participate in a week of Camp Life as a participant, $1,000 will be deducted from your total cost.
What is the application process? All applicants interested in being considered for summer staff must apply online for both a standard Camp Life application, as well as the Summer Staff application (see below). The reason for filling out both applications is that the Camp Life application provides general traveler information and secures a spot in a week of camp if Summer Staff acceptance is denied, and the Summer Staff application is what qualifies you for the Summer Staff program in particular.
- Standard Camp Life Application
- Summer Staff Application (choose from the options below)
